Root Cause for Thought

A tale too tall to tell
far too hard to sell,
I’m planting seeds to feed on
& hoping they take root

I jump so high, fearful I may fall
while sitting on a keg of dynamite
& feeling I might implode
holding onto tomorrow

Aglow with innocence
I’m a witness for the offense
fighting back with a vengeance
over wounds that never heal

I’m a soldier in God’s army
fit to wear the uniform of self-control
thankful for the chance to serve
trying to make the incredible
credible in the end,
giving us cause to pause for thought
& consider the ramifications of the plot
