how the poem got its name

Upon opening my email yesterday I was glancing down the subject lines for business memos, and thought I read:  “Poets go inside when the temperature drops” — it grabbed my curiosity so I moved my eyes left to see the author…  “Terminix” [my pest control vendor].

So I looked to the right again:  the word was “Pests” — but I thought it was a good line to develop…
