Inanimate objects, apparently dumb,
So rarely change their tune, midway,
An object can be a tyrant’s drum,
But it’s something the tyrant has to play.
Inanimate objects seem serene,
They practice peace in the cosmic stream,
They much prefer to sit and watch
Organic creatures dream.
Inanimate objects are always right,
And I’m glad they’re here to stay,
But so are the Preacher-Kings of Strife,
So why even bother to pray?
