Devil Hot on My Heels

From defeat, I emerge complete
Misunderstood while time stood still
Half-baked entrée in the oven
Overpriced accoutrements
In a face-off with the enemy inside
playing on my sentimentalities
Rehashing episodes of doubt & despair
Treating symptoms of hate & causality
Still the same old me hanging on for dear life
meeting danger with a heavy heart
and an open blank book

      1. Days can be dismal I won’t disagree, but you are a WRITER and a poet – this is not dismal, this could NEVER be dismal, thus you could never be dismal and if a day is dismal, take comfort in the truth, that you never will be, by my eyes or your own, any less than a glittering creature of words xo
